TryCatchUp — trycatchup.com

Operated by Mays Engineering LLC

Effective Date: March 27, 2026

1 — What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

Mays Engineering LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates TryCatchUp, a Slack-native AI bot that reads project channel activity, detects blockers and risks in real time, and synthesizes weekly digests for stakeholders. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Service.

For questions about this policy, contact us at support@trycatchup.com.

2 — What Information Do We Collect?

Slack Information

When a workspace administrator installs TryCatchUp via Slack's OAuth flow, we receive the following through Slack's API:

  • Workspace information: Team ID and workspace name.
  • Channel content: Messages, threads, and Canvas content in channels the bot has been explicitly added to.
  • Direct messages to the bot: Messages you send directly to TryCatchUp, including responses to check-in prompts and on-demand queries.
  • User information: User IDs, display names, and timezones of participants in monitored channels.
  • Channel metadata: Channel name, topic, and purpose.

We do not access channels the bot has not been added to. We do not collect Slack user passwords or SSO credentials.

Billing Information

Paid subscriptions are handled entirely by Stripe. We do not collect or store payment card details. Stripe collects your billing information directly through their hosted checkout page. We store only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status associated with your workspace.

Website Information

The only web-facing pages are the Slack OAuth install flow and the Stripe checkout redirect. We do not use cookies, analytics pixels, or tracking scripts on any page.

3 — How Do We Use Your Information?

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate weekly status digests, on-demand summaries, and risk alerts from channel activity.
  • Deliver participant check-in prompts and incorporate responses into risk alerts and status digests.
  • Process billing and enforce plan limits.
  • Debug and resolve errors in the Service.

We do not use your data to train AI models, build advertising profiles, or for any purpose unrelated to operating the Service.

4 — How Is Information Shared?

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

We use the following service providers to operate TryCatchUp:

  • OpenAI and Google — AI providers. Channel content is sent to one or both of these providers for summarization and analysis.
  • Amazon Web Services — Cloud infrastructure hosting.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe never receives Slack message content.
  • Sentry — Error monitoring. Error traces may include message metadata for debugging.

Both OpenAI and Google provide API terms that prohibit using API inputs to train their models.

5 — How Do We Store and Secure Information?

We store data on cloud infrastructure hosted in the United States. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and we follow industry-standard practices to protect your information. Bot tokens are stored securely and never logged.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We take reasonable measures to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6 — How Long Do We Keep Information?

We retain channel message data for a limited period to support digest generation and on-demand queries. Digest outputs and extracted project insights are retained for as long as your workspace uses the Service. We periodically purge temporary processing records.

After a workspace uninstalls the app, stored data can be deleted upon request.

7 — How Can I Delete My Information?

  • Removing the bot from a channel stops all collection and processing for that channel.
  • Uninstalling the app from your workspace revokes all access to your Slack data.
  • To request deletion of stored data, email support@trycatchup.com with your workspace name or team ID. We will confirm deletion within 30 days.

8 — Managed Workspaces

If TryCatchUp was installed by a workspace administrator, that administrator controls which channels are monitored and how the Service is configured. Contact your administrator for questions about how your organization uses TryCatchUp.

9 — Children's Privacy

TryCatchUp is designed for business use. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

10 — Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the TryCatchUp bot in Slack. The effective date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.

Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
